Asset Management

Explore our range of services designed to help you move forward with confidence, wherever you're headed.

Our Scope

The world is becoming complex and with compliance one of the most important elements keeping executives awake at night it’s important to get it right. But doing so does not have to be made difficult. The key for us, when project managing your assets, is building the team of specialists to deliver you the peace of mind you’re looking for at a price you can afford.

Our Process

Plan with Purpose

We sit down with you map out and categorise key assets. Ideally we work on the most important assets first - fire, electrical infrastructure - and plan the process.

Collaborate Openly

With critical components we need to collaborate with quality experts to deliver for our clients. This means working with engineers and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

Delivering Certainty

Managing your assets is not dissimilar to the Project Management (PM) cycle. We can’t effectively deliver any project without external experts - no project manager can. That’s why when you engage us to manage your assets we manage the entire process.

Asset Registry.

Case Study

We recent attended an aged care facility to address an electrical issue, only to find the switchboard feeding the main commercial kitchen had electrical components subject to a national safety recall.

We also found the switchboard had an additional 11 circuits with zero RCD protection. At the time of install - nearly 20 years ago - the switchboard was compliant. However, a lack of asset management meant staff were now genuinely exposed to risk. We ordered new RCDs from the manufacturer via the national recall - for free. We then engaged a contractor to replace the quicklags with modern RCD breakers.

We are now developing their asset registry, itemising all switchboards on site, implementing a six-monthly inspection program, placing approved signs on all switchboard doors and adding each item to their asset registry.

Where to start

We appreciate that most of our clients are focussing on delivering or growing their business, so keeping an up-to-date asset registry isn’t always a priority. This is especially the case with high-end critical infrastructure. For example, your CFO may have almost no knowledge of how fire boosters work, let alone how many you have and how often they need to be inspected.

Either way there are some really important lessons, advice and support we can give you. These include:

  • We argue that there is a massive difference between how many printers you hold in offices, to what constitutes a critical asset.

  • As a result, our focus is on critical assets that potentially present a risk to you or your business - external clients, internal residents etc - if they fail.

  • Developing an asset registry DOES NOT need to be complex. In fact, quantifying how many switch / distribution boards you have on-site, should take no longer than a single day.

  • Once we quantify what you have, we then assess things like:

    • Age of the asset, who installed it and the brand

    • It’s capacity

    • Compliance and risk profile

    • Replacement value v need for ongoing maintenance etc.

Our Projects

Manufacturing - Split Fin

We delivered for the largest independent flat glass manufacturer in Western Australian by Chairing the Project Control Group for the implementation of the LiSEC Split Fin - glass cutting machine.

Aged Care - Electrical

We redesigned outdated switchboards in a residential aged care facility to support major upgrades to their main kitchen.

This required master planning future developments to ensure electrical feeds met main kitchen needs both now and into the future. Safety was the main driver coupled with the implementation of a six-monthly testing regime across the aged care facility.

Education - Civil

Our CEO was engaged to take over an architectural design and project management division and delivered over $50M worth of projects to the New Zealand education sector.

Marine

We were engaged to deliver $5M worth of upgrades to a commercial marina and delivered every project on time and on budget.

The contract meant working with hundreds of contractors across two hard stands - 65t and 200t lifting capacity - and the largest commercial sheds in the State.

Project managing assets, CAPEX, maintenance, refurbs etc does not need to be complex. You just need the right people doing it.

Aged Care - Fire

Scoped, appointed and project managed fire engineers to take over all fire infrastructure for a leading residential aged care facility.

The cost to the client was $7,500 per annum to deliver monthly maintenance and testing. Add to this training of clinical staff and the redesign of emergency management processes and facility maps to marry with the main fire control panel matrix.

Private Equity - Electrical

Our CEO project managed millions of dollars of infrastructure upgrades for one of Australia’s most respected private equity companies. This also entailed installing a brand new 1000 KvA transformer and associated civil, sub-mains and switchboard infrastructure.

  • "The key to maintaining a quality asset registry? Ensure the firm who delivers your maintenance does it for you."

Dean Logan - CEO Red Cloud

  • "We worked with Red Clouds CEO to deliver major electrical upgrades and the process was seamless."

Jack Catrall - Director, South Beach Electrical

  • "The CEO of Red Cloud appointed us to install a linear heat, occupancy warning and detection system. No one PMs better."

    Damian - Applied Fire Technology

  • "We were paying $3,100 for a split cycle air conditioner for every room. Red Cloud obtained a better product and reduced the install price to $1,850."
